Why I teach Yin Yoga?
I used to love strong, challenging styles of yoga — Power Yoga, Vinyasa — pushing myself into difficult poses. But over time, I realised my body and mind were exhausted from physical work and the pace of life. I didn’t want to force myself anymore.
Someone suggested I try Yin Yoga, saying it was “therapeutic.” At first, I found it a little boring… but afterwards, I felt my body and mind completely refreshed.
As life and work became more stressful, I was drawn deeper into Yin. It gave me precious time to listen to my body, to calm my mind, and just be present.
I also noticed how Yin shared common ground with my massage training in Myofascial Release — both honouring the body’s natural rhythms, releasing tension gently, and respecting each person’s uniqueness.
Generally speaking, Yin Yoga can be a doorway to meditation. If you’ve ever thought you “don’t have time” to meditate or find it hard to sit still, Yin Yoga can give you a taste of meditation while also tending to your body.
